Lộc Phát Việt Nam Crypto Asset Exchange Joint Stock Company (LPEX) officially changed its name to Sacom Crypto Asset Exchange Joint Stock Company (SCEX) on April 28, 2026.
The corporate name change was driven by several key strategic factors:

From Regional/Localized to Broad Market Appeal: The platform originally established as LPEX (associated with Lộc Phát Việt Nam and headquartered at LPBank’s main office building) was rebranded as SCEX (Sacom) to signal a broader, institutional-grade brand identity.

National Ecosystem Alignment: The name change was part of a total brand repositioning aimed at constructing a professional digital asset trading platform ready for domestic and cross-border financial integration under Vietnam’s regulatory frameworks.
2. Preparing for Official Pilot Licensing (Resolution 05/2025/NQ-CP)

Capital Expansion: In February 2026—just prior to the April renaming—the company increased its initial charter capital from 6.8 billion VND to 360 billion VND (~50x growth).

Regulatory File Evaluation: Following the capital increase and corporate rebranding, SCEX was selected in March/May 2026 as one of the 5 eligible crypto exchange candidates whose pilot applications were officially accepted for formal evaluation by Vietnam’s Ministry of Finance, Ministry of Public Security, and the State Bank of Vietnam.
