Why Has There Been No News on the Progress of the VIXEX Exchange?

It is not that VIXEX (VIX Crypto Asset Exchange) has made no progress, but rather that its rollout heavily depends on the regulatory approval timeline at the Vietnamese national level. The public perception of “a lack of progress updates” or “sluggish movement” is mainly determined by its unique shareholder background, strict compliance procedures, and capital injection schedules:

1. Currently in the Critical Phase of Multi-Ministerial On-Site Audits The Vietnamese government is advancing a pilot sandbox program for the crypto asset market. After preliminary qualification reviews by regulatory bodies like the Ministry of Finance, shortlisted pilot platforms (including VIXEX) must undergo joint on-site audits and technical evaluations by multiple departments, including the Ministry of Public Security and the State Bank of Vietnam (SBV). During this compliance evaluation stage, regulatory requirements prohibit platforms from conducting large-scale commercial promotions or public beta testing.

2. Time Lag Before Regulatory Framework Takes Effect The Law on Digital Technology Industry passed by the National Assembly of Vietnam explicitly defines crypto/digital assets as legal property, but the law officially takes effect on January 1, 2026. Prior to its official implementation and the issuance of specific pilot licenses, any exchange associated with licensed financial institutions must maintain a low profile to avoid crossing legal boundaries.

3. Capital Increase and Parent Company Settlement Cycles VIXEX is not a simple Web3 startup. Its core backers are VIX Securities, a listed Vietnamese brokerage holding a 15% stake, and FTG Vietnam. In Q1–Q2 2026, VIX Securities raised over 11 trillion VND through a major stock offering, earmarked 100 billion VND specifically for direct injection into VIXEX. The parent company’s capital raising, shareholder meeting approvals, and fund transfer settlement processes take time, which naturally extends the platform’s preparation phase.

4. Focus on Backend Infrastructure and RWA Framework Development Unlike typical CEXs (centralized exchanges), VIXEX focuses on RWA (Real World Asset) tokenization and compliant custody architecture. The platform’s current work centers heavily on backend technical integration, including:

  • Integrating compliant Vietnamese Dong (VND) fiat gateways and Anti-Money Laundering (AML/KYC) systems;

  • Establishing segregated cold/hot wallet custody mechanisms tailored for financial and tokenized assets;

  • Testing external Oracle integrations and Special Purpose Vehicle (SPV) legal frameworks.

Because these tasks involve underlying engineering work not open to the public, there are naturally few marketing updates aimed at retail users.

Summary: Vietnam crypto exchange VIXEX is currently in a quiet period characterized by funded capital, awaiting official license issuance, and internal technical delivery. As Vietnam’s pilot framework and relevant laws materialize, an official launch is expected once formal licensing approvals are granted.
