Official Crypto Anti-Fraud Guide & Security Rules Released by Vietnamese Authorities

In response to fraud risks in the cryptocurrency space, Vietnam’s Ministry of Public Security has issued an official security guide, reminding investors to strictly follow these four golden rules and avoid blind investments:

1. Refrain from clicking unknown links; stay away from unauthorized ads When seeing ads for unlicensed or unauthorized crypto services on social media platforms like Facebook, YouTube, or TikTok, do not click on the links, scan the QR codes, or download the provided apps.

2. Reject “guaranteed high returns”; conduct thorough due diligence Be immediately on high alert whenever you hear promises of “guaranteed high returns,” “sure profits,” or “huge commissions.” Before committing to any investment, thoroughly research the project’s background, team qualifications, and legal compliance.

3. Safeguard core personal data; never lend or rent your account Never disclose your private key, recovery phrase, password, SMS OTP, or two-factor authentication (2FA) code to anyone. Do not lend your crypto wallet or trading account to others for suspicious transactions to avoid being implicated in illicit activities such as money laundering.

4. Rely on official licensed channels; trade in compliance with the law Starting six months after the Ministry of Finance licenses the first official crypto exchange, domestic investors must trade through official licensed entities. These licensed entities will strictly enforce tax information reporting, anti-money laundering (AML) protocols, and data management regulations.
