Happy Vietnam Blockchain Day – From core technology to national-scale challenges
In just one year, blockchain and digital assets in Vietnam have seen significant developments in both regulation and strategic direction. The Law on Digital Technology Industry established a legal foundation for digital assets; Decision No. 21/2026/QĐ-TTg placed blockchain on the national list of strategic technologies; and Decision No. 1413/QĐ-TTg further expanded the role of blockchain in the comprehensive reform of Vietnam’s financial market. To date, five crypto asset exchanges have passed the first stage of the licensing process and are continuing to complete the required conditions before officially commencing operations.
Beyond these key milestones, a range of other legal documents, programs and development initiatives are also being further refined. One notable example is Vietnam RWA Summit 2026, which brought together more than 5,000 delegates and created a platform for multi-stakeholder policy dialogue and ecosystem connectivity, supporting the development of the regulatory framework, attracting international investment and positioning Vietnam as a regional RWA hub for the 2026 – 2030 period.
These developments show that blockchain is gradually moving beyond the scope of an emerging technology and becoming an increasingly important component of Vietnam’s digital economy.
Vietnam Blockchain Day is an opportunity to look back at the market’s most notable developments over the past year and recognize the contributions of regulators, businesses, experts and the community in building a transparent, secure Web3 ecosystem connected to real-world economic needs.
September 9 was chosen to mark the milestone of September 9, 2025, when the Government issued Resolution No. 05/2025/NQ-CP on the pilot digital asset market. On the same day, the Vietnam Blockchain and Digital Assets Association and VMatrix unveiled the world’s fifth Satoshi statue and inaugurated Vietnam’s first Blockchain Gallery, creating a distinctive milestone where regulation, technology and culture converged.（Vietnam Crypto Exchange）
